REVIEWS OF A QUIET WEEKEND
IN CAPRI "By the time you finish
it, you'll feel like you know every inch of the Mediterranean island's
quaint main village, from the small shops and restaurants to the
breathtaking views of tree-covered cliffs and azure waters." --
The Washington Post (registration required)
"Who wouldn't want to spend six weeks in a
Mediterranean paradise, even if it's virtual?" --
Time
"It’s great to see people trying new
things, and putting the entire island of Capri into a game is certainly a
challenge. Capri is more than worth the money...4.5/5" --
Game Industry News
"...investment in artists has often come at the expense of writers, and
computer stores are filled with adventure games that look good but play
terribly...A Quiet Weekend In Capri bucks the trend." --
PC-Gaming
"Think Myst but in a real location." --
Quandary
"Capri is a unique game with its
environments made up of photos of real places rather than polygon-rendered
graphics. The Savareses captured virtually the entire public space of
Capri on film in order to give gamers the full experience of being on the
island. The grocery store that you walk into in the game is literally the
same as the one that really exists on the island of Capri (down to the
grocer who plays himself in the game). Navigating around the island
requires use of a real map of Capri, such as you would use if you were
actually a tourist." --
The
Republic
"This game is great in almost every way. It enthuses me that such
quality adventures are being marketed...Final Grade: A" --
Just Adventure
"...pleased to award A Quiet Weekend in Capri our coveted Gold Star."
--
Four Fat Chicks
"...the soundtrack to this game is worth
the price of admission." --
GameBoomers "90/100" --
Adventure's Planet "...the scenery truly is magnificent, with breathtaking
vistas wherever you look. Lush sound effects add to the feeling of
realism, with things like the church bells ringing, birds chirping and
dogs barking, and the sound of the ocean waves. And the delightful
original music enhances it all, with evocative individual compositions
that are played only in certain areas for heightened effect. You'll fall
in love with Capri" --
Mr Bill's Adventureland "As you progress through
the game you'll fall in love with the island, with its rocky precipices
jutting out of the sapphire-hued sea, cobblestone streets and alleys, and
flowing antiquated architecture...The game is accompanied by a full-length
soundtrack...The compositions immediately evoke images of the
Mediterranean, like something Furio from HBO's Sopranos would listen to."
